anxiety in women

Do you love engaging with people? Would your friends call you charming? Is having a creative outlet a must for you? If so, you’re probably a Fire type.

In East Asian medicine, the universe is made up of 5 elements, also called phases. These elements: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water, are the building blocks of our environment, including us. We are each a unique mix of all the elements, but one of them is primary. Learning your primary element can give you personalized tools for managing stress and living a healthier, happier life. Instead of doing ALL THE THINGS, or getting overwhelmed and doing nothing, you’ll learn which lifestyle hacks will give you the most bang for your buck.

Fire people are passionate, creative, and charming. You naturally have a compact, muscular body, and might have redness or sensitivity in your skin. You have a strong creative drive, making art, music, crafts, or even food. You probably don’t mind some attention from people and might even be a performer or orator of some kind.

But there’s a dark side to your magnetism. You struggle with anxiety, and probably experience heart palpitations, shortness of breath or pressure in the chest. You may experience hot flashes, or your face or eyes turn red. When stressed, you may also experience rashes, acne or insomnia.

Chronic stress and anxiety can also cause you to withdraw. Usually outgoing and gregarious, your sensitivity to anxiety can get in the way of doing the things that could help you the most. You really thrive around good people, and they can be a big support to you when you’re not at your best, if you let them in. However, be careful not to lean on online and social media use instead of actual connection with real people. Late night doomscrolling can keep you locked in anxiety.

Instead, lean on your friends and your creativity. Schedule lunch or a phone call with a friend. Paint, sculpt, play music, dance, make something beautiful and express yourself through your art.

Many Fire types have been known to use cannabis to quell their anxiety. But smoking can add to your already hot and fiery nature, so be careful. If you need something to put in your mouth, use foods that soothe the Heart, the organ of Fire folks. Bitter foods, like coffee, chocolate and bitter greens are fantastic, as well as any food that’s red, including beets, tomatoes and strawberries. Red M&M’s don’t count!

I also love palmarosa essential oil for you. Diffuse it into the air when you’re anxious, or rub it onto your chest or feet for grounding.

The more often you do all of this, the better you’ll feel.
